Bolt Pattern for a 55 TF

I just purchased a 55 TF that is 400 miles away. No motor/Trans, Seller says tires are "fair". I plan to pull it home next week using my tow dolly. I have a Salvage Yard operator who will let me pull any tires/rims he has to use as spares (free of charge) for the trip home. If anyone can tell me what newer model rims would work on this six lug pattern I would be grateful.

Re: Bolt Pattern for a 55 TF

For the rear any 6 x 5.5 bolt pattern will work. Chevy, Nissan, etc. The front becomes a little more difficult because of the spindle, hub.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Do you know which Chevy rims (from newer trucks/SUVs) will work?

Re: Bolt Pattern for a 55 TF

None of the late model wheels will work because the center hole is smaller then the hub center on the TF.

Find a set of aftermarket white spoke wheels 6 lug x 5.5" bolt circle no wider then 8" with a 4 3/4" backspace.

Load the truck on a car trailer. Save yourself the grief and ticket.

Up to 87 will definitely work. I had some aftermarket chrome wheels on my 68 Chev several years ago, sold that truck and put the wheels on an 83 Suburban. Junked that truck and put the wheels on my 50 Chev 3100. All 6 lug of course.
