1969 c10 swb
This is an A/C truck. I bought it for $4k. The engine and tranny run well, but it's very leaky. As soon as I bought it, I took it to a friend's body shop to have it restored:
It had lots of rust... |

Re: 1969 c10 swb
Since I'm in about $9k. How much would you say a truck like this is worth? I've seen some on ebay for up to $18k restored. I've heard stories of LWB going for $25k, and blue book says #1 truck is around $35k with my options.
I'm not sure whether I want to sell it, but it would be nice to get an idea of how much it's worth. Any ideas? |

looks good they r getting harder and harder to find, you need to ask if this was a money maker or just a credit card truck. Most here are where they are from their own sweat and toil, that makes them a lot harder to part with. Either way you have a nice looking truck, For what it is worth, it is worth what someone will give you for it.

Re: 1969 c10 swb
Thanks for the advice.
My grandpa left me his 1986 C10. It's in great shape, and I couldn't sell it without upsetting some family - not that I would. I just don't really need this truck(as much as I like it), and I was hoping for some sort of return. Not sure if that's possible. At worst I can sit on it until the right buyer comes along. OTOH, with the money I put into this I couldn't buy a brand new truck. So I guess I come out ahead either way. |

Someone will ask so let it be me. Did you fix all leaks, replace all weather stripping, polish all glass out, interior new and freshen suspension/steering and engine compartment? This all plays into what it is really worth if you want to get really good money.

Hard to give you an idea without more info/pics....
If the work you put in is decent and everything is in good mechanical condition (does it have disc) I would say you have a 8-12K truck. If its really nice the price could go up. Personally I'm not in love with the wheels and it needs to be dropped to stand out.

Engine is in good shape besides said leaks. Has long type headers. Tranny and engine have matching numbers. I am going to rebuild the factory a/c and put a new compressor in. Engine compartment has had some work - probably could use more. I dunno about suspension and steering. |

I'm hoping to put disc brakes at least on the front - hate the drums. I want to put these on it(with some Wrangler tires): I will not drop it. Last edited by mbright; 04-04-2012 at 09:00 AM. |

I also need to mention that the bed has some dips in it. I just had them put a spray in color-matching bed-liner - it hides some, but not all.
I'm in it for $12k, so if all I can get is $12k tops it will just have to be my baby. |

You paid a decent chunk to start and have alot into it. You could possible get close to break even at 12K if it was lowered and had disc breaks.
