Red face rear drum removal

Need help to remove the rear drum. Have to replace the bolt studs and check the brake shoes. My gmc is 3/4 ton with full floating rear with 13" shoes. One stud remains. See pic of brake drum.

Re: rear drum removal

You need to pull the axle out, adjust the shoes in and hope it slides off. If not ENCOURAGE it.

Yep, pull the axle, remove the snap ring and key, then unscrew the nut holding the hub in place. If the drum doesn't come off after that and some adjustment, get a large brass hammer or something that wont send metal chips flying into your face. Then talk to it sweetly while getting out any and all frustrations from the day.

They are right but make sure to wear safety glasses if you have to persuade it off.
