Headliner trim
Okay, so who has the best repro headliner trim? I got some from LMC, but it sagged and drooped so badly (and then got deformed in the Texas heat)....does anyone make some in aluminum?

Re: Headliner trim
None made in aluminum, but I'm sure someone make a better one like original. I have a set I bought years ago from Golden State Pickups. I hope that's good quality.

Re: Headliner trim
Make sure your gluing the headliner up and not letting the molding hold the weight up. I think I read on here that it could cause that.
Bought 2 new sets from Classic but haven't installed either yet...

Re: Headliner trim
I had the trim from LMC, and we glued the headliner with contact cement....It was drooping within 2 weeks in the Texas summer. My upholstery guy is putting a plastic liner in place of the cardboard....I guess we will see how it works this summer.

Re: Headliner trim
I have glued (using 3M weatherstrip adhesive) OEM headliners in trucks with no trim and had it stay for years. It sounds like poor quality plastic to me. I'm no poly chemist, but I'm sure there are additives to increase thermal tolerance (since they can make plastic ash trays) that were not used in that LMC stuff.

Re: Headliner trim
I used very small screws to hold my trim up and I glued the headliner. Have never had any problems.

Re: Headliner trim
just a tip.... use liquid nails for the headliner. It won't go anywhere. Just make sure you are happy with your paint color and headliner. Trevor
