aux in on a 36 year old radio!
well not a true aux in but you guys might like it. i wanted to keep my factory radio working in my 76 silverado but i wanted somthing more than just am/fm so this is what i did.
first off i soldered 2 more wires onto my radio so i had a 2 channel output and added a higt to low converter. i had a 4 channel amp laying around that i wasnt using so i put it under the seat. while i was in there i took out the stock 4x10 and put in a pair of focal 4's now i have the radio output going to the front inputs of the amp and a 3.5 to rca cable going to the rear inputs of the amp. now i made a relay pack that with the flip of a switch cuts power to the factory radio and relays the positive and nevative speaker wires from the front channels of the amp to the rear channels of the amp so now my phone in the source. so now everything looks stock but sounds way better and i can still use my stock radio and have pandora! |
