Re: Ran across this Burb today...???

Nice GMC. Has all the right trim around the sliding windows too. Looks like a 62-63.

Re: Ran across this Burb today...???

If the turn signal lenses are clear, it's a '62. '63-up are amber.

Does it have 3 rows of seats?

Re: Ran across this Burb today...???

The "Amber Law" was mandated for model year '64....but was announced in mid '63 ...so some early '63's had clear....mid '63 they changed to amber to be compliant with the new '64 mandates...
At least that's what I understand.
But I sure might be smoked-up on that there info, Freaky.

I wish I had that dang Burb.....she's a dream truck as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Ran across this Burb today...???

If you two guys removed all the trim on the side of both trucks and ebayed it, you could then afford to buy the rest of the trucks, and take us all to dinner.

Yes, both because most GMC's didn't get deluxe trim, and also since many guys want it for their Chevys.

Rare at least (trim for both trucks) (therefore, expensive for someone that wants it) - but personally, I hope the trim stays with the truck (because you buy it).

Edit: OOPS, sorry Mark, SIMO-POST!!

Re: Ran across this Burb today...???

If this thing was more complete I may have thought about trying to buy it from the guy, but it's missing alot of stuff, lots of rust too.

Re: Ran across this Burb today...???

thats the ultimate burb in my opinion. kneeknocker, black with chrome and the trim. in its day that would have been a site. I had my chance to step up to the pay window for a good one. I passed and have regretted it ever since.

Re: Ran across this Burb today...???

Kinda' funny....but I'm sure Toby will back me on this....
Alaska is actually a very vehicle friendly place, as far as rust goes.
The coast can really be a *****....but partly because it stays warm.
But the interior of the state is either frozen or summer....for the most part, and it makes for little mold or moss....no salted roads...not even that much sand.....just on a few corners or grades.
Some old rigs that I know of have sat in the same place for 40 years and still are in as good of shape as they were when they were parked there. (save for an eight inch spruce tree growing up through the bed)

The body keeps us honest....the mind gets us through it.
Those short days are startin to slip the other way and you'll sure feel better....'till about the first of October.

I might be up there this fall.
It's a small state. Maybe a barley-pop on the way through.

Looks like I'm going to be swinging back by this place to pull a couple parts for another board member. If any see's anything they may want that would be "simple" to get let me know what you want and what you would like to pay. I'll see if I can grab it.
