Has anyone used a dropped axle from Sid in Oklahoma?

Hey all, I am new to the sight, I have a 55 3100 2nd series. Has anyone used a dropped axle from nostalgia Sid on their truck? I am wanting to drop mine with our cutting the frame up. The truck has been in my family from day one.

Yes I've used Nostalgia Sid. Worked out well. Also have used Dave Mann (roadsters.com) but not sure whether he's still doing them.

Only one I would never deal with again is Mor-Drop.

Thanks, how far did you have Sid go? 3" or 4"? What tire size?

Sid just sent me mine two weeks ago. I went with a 4" drop on my '49. He is incredibly helpful with everything and I would recommend him to anyone.

Yeah Sid's is great! plus i don't know how quick you need it but if you catch him when he is coming out west for a show...he will meet up with you along the way so you won't have to pay so much for shipping. That's what he did for me when he came out to the Turlock swap.

I have a '55 1st series. Thinking about a 3" drop. If I buy the 3" dropped axle, is there anything else that needs to be done.
thanks, Larry

Larry my 55 is a second series. I went with the modified control arms and a new tie rod. I got rid of all the ball and socket ends for modern tie rod ends.

The dropped axle wouldn't have anything to do with the tie rods hitting the tire.
If you dropped the steering arms on the spindles for clearance of the spring that might have some effect. Those ball and socket rod ends need adjusting quite often and do take up more room in that area than a more modern end would.
