SEM number for the light blue?
My 79 has the lighter of the two blue interiors offered, I think they called it Medium Blue. I'd like to freshen up the door panels, dash, and console with new trim and a few coats of SEM, but I don't see that color on their website. If anyone knows the number of that color, I'd sure appreciate it.

Re: SEM number for the light blue?
I don't have the number to it, but I purchased some SEM paint to redo the interior of my truck last week. Go to any O'reilly's that sales paint and as to look at the paint book that has all the paint codes in it. It will list interior and exterior colors. I picked mine out that way and it matched perfect. It is great stuff. Spray a little adhesion promoter on it, paint it and let it dry thoroughly before trying to re-install. Good luck and hit me up if you have any questions.

Re: SEM number for the light blue?
I sure do. You can see the "before" color of my interior in my vent window rebuild thread. I started off with the Krylon Fusion medium blue color made for plastic. It was way too bright and way to shiny once dried. Also, my leather pockets on my door never did cure and dry from the Fusion. So then I tried a "Medium Blue" interior paint made by Dupli-Color, but it was almost gray once dried. I finally talked to the paint guy at my local O'reilly's and he recommended the SEM Shadow Blue, #15043, and it turned out great! It dried the accurate color and the finish was Matte. I couldn't scratch it off with a quarter, after 2 coats a day apart, once dried. I am very pleased with it. If you want a picture of the finished color, let me know and I will post one.

Re: SEM number for the light blue?
Hi John,
Does the shade of blue in your 79 look anything like this door panel ? That's interior code #25 in Dad's 77 GMC. I couldn't find it listed in any of the SEM color charts either so I ended up having it color matched off the unfaded part behind the woodgrain trim. The door panel shown above has been sprayed with that custom mix of SEM but the arm rest and map pocket are original. The mix formual for this color in SEM Color Coat is: SEM # -- Color name -- Cumulative grams per pint 1554 -- Tinting White -- 188.5 1553 -- Fast Blue -- 309.5 1559 -- Yellow Oxide -- 395.7 1501 -- Landau Black -- 441.1 |

Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device The 2nd pic is a trim piece held up against my dash for color comparison. I took the pics with my phone so the lighting makes a difference. Posted via Mobile Device
