Emergency brake parts

Hi guys:

I'm new to the forum, so I apologize if this question has been posted elsewhere, but I have looked and haven't found it. My 71 SWB has been missing the e-brake since I got it. That means missing everything from the pedal to the cable to the parts in the brake drum.

I've since gotten everything I need to install an e-brake except those drum parts. I'm not even sure what to call them, but does anyone know where I can get them? I'll even buy a used drum that has them if necessary. These parts may be common to a bunch of GM products from the time that have the same diameter brake drum. These are not parts that wear out and are only needed because they were discarded by a careless mechanic too lazy to remove them from the old brake shoes and put them on the new ones. They should be cheap but are not available from the usual suspects, like LMC Truck and the like. Appreciate any advice.

Re: Emergency brake parts

go to a junk yard and look for pretty much any GM truck '71-'87. those parts should be the same all through those years.

Nightmare:

Thanks for the quick response. Do you know what those parts are actually called? Are they parking brake brackets?
