Assuming you don't have tubs, 4" to 4-1/2" backspacing is standard. Good luck, Scott

and

295/50 15 in the rear. on a 8 1/2" rims

I am close to rubbing on the rear. but i am about 2" above the tire on the lowering, with out a load in bed

tire and rim size

When i did it for my dropped 56 f#$d i just measured the space with a tape measure and then subtracted an 1" to figure the tire size and for the rim backspacing i measured from where the backplate and wheel studs meet. They didn't make the steel wheels with the required back spacing so i got the max they would do and got a 1/2" wheel spacer and they fit perfect and looked badass.
Good luck

295/50-15 tires fit a 15x10 rim great. The rim and the tire look really well matched, and pretty bad a$$ too. However, 50-series tires ride like crap, and everyone i know that has them have problems with them wearing out. I am hoping to go with a 15x10 wheel and a 275/60-15 tire on them, i think it should look pretty good with the 15x8 rim and 255/60-15 tires i have on the front now.

275 are a tight stretch on a 10" rim, might roll off rim on a dounut spin!!! I used Remington tires 295/50/15 on mine, ride seems fine, I also have them on my 81, and it holds up great. I tried GF G's and Good years. They did not hold up that well, and where more expencive (remingtons where about $100. each and the others about hmmm $130 each)
