Suburban Rear Window Removal

My 1990 Suburban has tinted windows and my 1982 Suburban has clear windows. I want to do a swap.

How do I remove the rear side windows on a Suburban? How difficult is it to do without breaking the glass? Both vehicles have rubber center channel moldings.

Once I remove the center channel out of the rubber molding, then what do I need to do? Should the window push from the inside out easily? Or will I need some tool to push the rubber out? Will I need to remove the interior plastics that's around the window?

Re: Suburban Rear Window Removal

removing the center channel and they will push from inside out like you guessed. take your time and use soapy water to ease installation. i've also seen people put string in the rubber seal channel where the glass sits to make the install easier. put the string in the channel, start placing the glass and while holding the glass against the seal pull out the string. it should pull the seal over the glass while its coming out. This is a video for a snugtop but it the same type of mounting. http://youtu.be/R1ilXMfyo7c

x2 foaming glass cleaner works great too. the more the merrier. in this case, over lubrication is not an issue!
