48 grill in a 54 chevy

what is required to change from a 54 chevy grille to an early 5 bar grill on a 54 chevy

I have on to I was told the fenders and grill from the 49 their all the same (fenders) fit wise

The 54 fenders have a indentation in them to clear the park lights with a hole in it for the wire harness to go through that you would have to deal with if you kept the 54 fenders.

The grill fits but you have to contend with the holes in the front of each fender.

I've got one out here that someone pop riveted a patch over to use on an earlier truck that I picked up at a swap meet a couple of years ago and figured out why I got such a great deal on it after I got home.

Here are a couple of shots of the back side of the 54 fender so you can see what you have to contend with.




The indentation for the park light isn't as deep as I thought it was nor is there the bigger hole for the wiring.

Here is the front side with it's pop rivited band aid.

My 54 Suburban fenders are rounded where it goes from the top of the grill to the side. With these fenders there is no way that I could put an earlier grill in these fenders with out a lot of work.
