Dana 44 Big Hub Parts Question

One of the lockout springs in a hub broke. Any idea where I can find another and for that matter, the gaskets? I haven't looked specifically but something tells me the spring may be tough to find.

Re: Dana 44 Big Hub Parts Question

Is your lockouts listed as a 19 spline? And I take you are referring to the coiled spring that broke. I just replaced my stock lockouts with mile marker premiums. I have the old lockouts with good springs and I expect there are many around used.

Mine came out of a 88 Blazer gm 10 bolt but for halftons I read they are the same as the dana 44.

That may be true for 1/2t Dana 44s,although I'm not too sure about that, but a big hub Dana 44 is a 3/4t and with no similarity to any 10-bolt.

Re: Dana 44 Big Hub Parts Question

I have been looking for the plastic centers for these hubs for awhile now and from my experience, PARTS ARE HARD TO FIND. Not impossible, as I am sure they are out there, look on ebay, there was a guy selling complete hubs, I emailed him looking for the centers and he didnt have any he wanted to part with, but he may have springs. Good luck, if I come across any parts I will let you know.

Re: Dana 44 Big Hub Parts Question

Thanks Blazerman. Been working too much to check out part store. I probably should replace them both. Let me do some checking for a new pair and I will get back to you.

My grandparents farmed outside of Maryville so I have been to St Joe many times!
