Has anyone used this radiator?

Doing a bbc swap in my 71 c10 and was wondering if anyone had bought/used this radiator? I have stock sbc mounts and was wondering if they would work or would I need to modify or buy different?..Thanks

I don't know if that's the same one but I bought one that looks just like it. It was like $50 more and I picked it up on Ebay. Keeps my 383 cool in the Texas heat with no problem.

I ordered this one the other day with 2 14" fans for $279. I called and ordered it and it was cheaper than what it showed on line. Can't wait for it to get here.

it's a good rad, but you should be able to find it for 150-160.

Not to hijack the thread but I went to that page and looked and read the specs on it. On the heater nipple it lists it as a heater "return". Is it a return or does the core actually feed from that nipple. I'm asking because I bought a new 4 core from O'reillys this week with the nipple. I have a electric water pump and was hoping this would solve my heater delima without having to tap into my water pump. I was hoping to tap heater core to tho nipple and return it thru the intake. Any thoughts? Thanks.

i just installed one of these in my 68 to cool the new 383. it installed with no problem and fits as original. so far, just cranked for first time today, it seems to be a quality unit

mine doesn't have a heater return because my 48 doesn't have a heater, but i know that it means it feeds from the engine to the core then from the core to the rad.this design would eliminate taping in to the pump.

It says that it uses 4-row mounts. So you would probably need to change your mounts to 4 core mounts. I got a 4 core with life time warranty at O'Reillys for $194.34 out the door. It is not aluminum but it is all mettal.

you actually don't need aluminum on a cast iron block. a steel rad will work just as well as any aluminum rad. and if you are using aluminum remember, in theory, it dissipates heat faster ,so a 4 core shouldn't be necessary.
i believe the new chevy trucks have the same size rad as the 70s. they are aluminum and about 160-200 at the parts store new. they have plastic tanks, but they are designed to last for 150k-200k. i'll check into it and find out what years fit.
