DBW pedal - what did you use?

OK 67-72 guys....I've come across an issue here or there I've worked thru...but this one I'd sure take some ideas on based on what others have done that works.

The '07 DBW pedal assembly kicks to the right of the mount...our kick to the left.

I've always modified mine, welded part of the original pedal arm to the new one.

But FWIW, Corvettes use the same pedal as a "71-2 trucks, you can even put the stainless piece on them. But it all depends on what you are using for PCM, TAC ect, as they have to match.

OK, I just re-read your post, the 2007 uses the all plastic pedal, and they are kinda hard to weld on! On my '07, I took the original pedal and welded a bracket that I in turn bolted to the plastic pedal after cutting most of it off. I can get you a pic tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it.

the Lokar stuff is nice no doubt....but a bit pricey. They make you buy 2 pieces....the pedal assembly and the control module...meaning a tab of well over $400 before you're thru. At least....thats the way I read it.

Thanks for the Frankenstein idea! I had wished it was metal instead of plastic so I could weld my original to it...didn't think of "bolting" to it. Sometimes its the simplest things!

You may consider cutting the plastic and setting it in a "jig" in the position you want. You could then use an epoxy/resin with some light metal rod and "cast" your own.

It sounds like a huge hairy pain in the a$$ but I'd be afraid of bolts creating a stress point in the abs plastic.

as far as an epoxy job...got a product recommendation for the job?

Here ya go! Where it's bolted to the plastic part, I made a metal part that kind of "wraps" around it, and it actually would hold with out the bolts, but it was loose, so I bolted it. Ignore the oil pressure gauge hanging there, it's only temporary!

Belzona super metal is really really hardcore stuff, if you can repair a aircraft carrier with it, probably should work for this.

that looks great...can't quite tell how the pedal bar is cut/formed tho and what the top cover accomplishes.

I've used j-b weld quite a bit and if there's an epoxy as strong it ought to work!
