Tightened Tilt Column - extra part!

I've tightened up the tilt column on my 90 Suburban, but I have a part - spring clip -left over. Saw it fall, but don't know where from. Anybody? Thanks.

Re: Tightened Tilt Column - extra part!

It's the sector preload spring. I've got a pdf showing the rebuild of a chevy steering column with excellent pics and explenation how to. Problem is I do not know how to post it on the forum. Maybe anyone can find it via google and posts it? The name I found it under is INSIDE THE GM TILT STEERING COLUMN by Jazzman. The spring is shown on page 22 and further.

Re: Tightened Tilt Column - extra part!

Thank you guys so much. I fought it for a long time because my dimmer switch wasn't right but the ignition lock felt okay. Figured it must have something to do with the dimmer. But now I got it where it goes and hope to have it finished tonight or tomorrow - depending on if my wife will let me disappear again! Thank you again.
