How are people attaching late model center caps on without changing to metric lugnuts

I have a chance to but some real nice 16 aluminum oem wheels off a 04 3/4 gmc with the center caps that thread on to the outside of the lug nuts. I was thinking of putting them on my 71 gmc but dont know how people attaching late model center caps on without changing to metric studs and lugnuts.

I did this on my old 72....

They are attached from the back side. There are little tabs on the back of the caps you can thread a screw into, you put the screws on from the back of the wheel going thru the hole in rally for the bolt that hold on the earlier style cap.

You can buy 1/2" or 9/16" conversion lugnuts for the later wheels. I have seen them on ebay too.

the chevy asto vans had 1/2" wheels studs with the threads on the outside of the nuts . thats on the 5 lug vans , not sure about the 6 lug vans.

Yep..

Go to your local salvage yard and pull em off of chevy astro vans, im pretty sure you can still get them from your local G.M dealer.

Alot on Ebay......Been doin those on my trucks and trailers for 10 years--Got a local spring shop here that got the 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16 nuts that long ago!!............jim
