oblong rally rim lug nut holes??

I have one rally rim out of my set that has slightly oblong lug nut holes. Should i be concerned? What can I do to make sure I have no problems once putting it on the truck?

that rim was in all likelyhood run loose and it oblonged out.. that being said id replace the rim.. it will eventually damage your lugs and could come off

yup....check your studs are ok if the rim was not like that before

And now, for the opposing point of view:

I've saved a couple Corvette rallys by dressing the lug holes with a countersink, to clean them up. The caveat here is that I was also going from a 1/2 stud to a 9/16 stud, so the larger lug nut would also give me more bearing surface area. That's what's on the car now and they've been 136 mph over several seasons without issue.

So - you could try touching up the holes with a countersink, but would probably need to check them afterwards with the production lug nut to make sure you were satisfied with the amount of contact. Some amount of subjective interpretation would be required there. Don't try this at home if you are not comfortable with that.
