You have to love the silence!
Just did belts & idlers on my 02 silverado.....170,000 miles, & all GM part numbers coming off! I did all Gates on the parts(not cheap), but she is quiet like a new one
 If those pcs last like the originals....the truck will be rotted up to the door handles & headed for the boneyard, before they are replaced again crazyL

Mine went 135K before I changed them. I did the belts/idlers/and tensioner pulleys for both the main belt and the A/C. Mine were actually OK until it rained, then they squealed like a little piggy. Tensioner pulleys were a little worn, but the idler on the main belt was shot. I could actually wobble it after I took the belt off.
I ordered all my parts from Rock Auto, it was all GM stuff, ac delco, and made in Canada.

Personally I would have opted for Goodyear Gatorbacks. I replaced the main belt on my 01 2500HD in 2006 at ~70k miles because I upgraded to a bigger alternator and needed a longer belt, I left the little OEM AC belt. I installed a Gates belt, it did fine, no noise except for a chirp when it shifted at WOT. Just last month at 140K, I was checking under the hood, the main belt I replaced with a gates was eaten up and cracking all over, the OEM AC belt (small belt) still looked brand new. I replaced them with Gatorbacks.
To add to that, a few months ago my wife's car was squealing so I replaced the belts with Gates, it still did it, replaced the ilders, still did it. Finally ordered some Gatorbacks, replaced the Gates with Gatorbacks, and the noise was gone. I was sold on them after that and all the other good reports I had heard of them.
