Power Steering question
I have added a p/s gearbox to my truck and am going to get my hoses made this Saturday but I have one question. There are two spots on the gear box for the hoses to screw into, which one is the inlet and which is the outlet or does it even matter?

They are different sizes, just mark the hoses before you replace them, the larger one goes closer to the motor I believe. Put a piece of tape on that line closest to the power steering pump to remember that goes there. then the smaller once only has one place to go

The problem is, I dont have existing hoses on it. I added power steering to my truck that did not have it originally. I did not make that clear when I posted. Sorry about that.

Oh no problem, Um...i have no idea then haha. Well actually do you have the lines? they should both be different sized fittings. Big goes with big, small goes with small, you should have no choice where to put them

Sorry even if you don't have the lines, the fittings are large and small, large goes with large, small goes with small. I do believe, let me go look at my truck right now I'll get back to ya

I dont have new lines, I have to have them made since the motor in the truck is from a 95 Z-28. The p/s pump is now located on the passenger side and it has a remote resevoir.

Hose fitting closest to frame is return line the one farthest from frame is pressure why have tgem made just go to the partake house and get the hose for the year of your truck u also have to know what year the steering box is and that the pump matches because they went to metric in I belive 76 or 77 your Probly going to have to go to the junkyard because the return line uses hi pressure hoses and hose clamps the box should have a fitting that has a barbed end on it

Sorry i don't know about a 91, but I'll post what I know from my 76, the line closest to the power steering pump, the outside line, is the smaller line, the fatter line is on the inside of the pump, closer to the engine block.

Based on the above pic, I would say the port closest to the frame is the pressure or inlet port and the other is the return port. Everyone agree?
