Introduction

Time for an introduction. We picked up an 85 Chevy C10 stepside with 113,000 miles on her. Our two boys wanted to know how to fix up a truck and keep it running. The truck is a 350/700r4 and only needed a little mechanical work to keep it running. We replaced the Carb, fuel pump and all the rubber fuel lines. Everything else on the truck seems to work very well. We change all the fluids, gave her a complete tuneup and changed the shocks after she came home. It amazing how the wife and boys are getting into fixing her up. Next step is a posi unit and better gears, then sandblast the rims and repaint them with new caps and trim rings. The wife want sot replaced the benach seat with two buckets and a center jump seat.
I hope to learn a lot from all of you and post some pics of the progress.

Thanks,
Edgar

Cool Truck. I like having a bench in the truck...it's more comfortable for me.
Get some drop spindles and flip kit for the back.

Re: Introduction

Thanks guys.

My youngest is the one that wanted this truck and he wants to keep it as close to stock as possible. We did talk about dropping it but at this time he says he likes this ride height.

Very good looking stepside. Is so much easier to start with a good canvas. At least it's had a 350 dropped in it already, one less thing.

I agree. They even kept all the emissions stuff on it also. She only has a few small rust issues that we need to take care of.

In Houston but from a broker. We've been search for a stepside for months. Both of my boys pulled their money together for it.

Thanks man. This one is becoming a great family bonding project. For my 11 year olds birthday present he wants a TACH for the truck. We told him he doesn't have to get birthday stuff for it but he is insisting on it.

That's a really nice truck, but your boys pooling their money together to buy it to restore is too cool. Nice score, I'm sure that one will turn into something special for all of you.

At least the boys are getting along when they work on the truck. They have been working together very well. And thanks for the complement.

Nice Stepper...More pictures.

I drove mine without a grill for 2 months so she wouldn't complain when I bought the chrome.

It worked too..
