stock wheel size on C20
This is the stance I'm looking for, but my originally C20 was converted to a C10 setup. Anyone know if I can still achieve this stance shown below, and what wheel/tire sizes these may be? Thanks
C20, all stock -

Re: stock wheel size on C20
Those rims on the truck you posted above are 16" rims.
My Longhorn came factory with 16.5" rims. They are easy to spot the difference where the rim face meets the tire. The 16" rims are more of a 90* angle. The 16.5" rims have more of a 45*-60* angle. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: stock wheel size on C20
I've got a Custom Camper C/20 with a rear coil spring setup. I went with 265/75/16 tires on 16X7 F*rd steel wheels. I also added some 1/2" spacers under the rear coil springs to put a little more rake into it (which sometimes I think it a little bit overkill).

Re: stock wheel size on C20
Thank you everyone and slicklajoie for the reply and pictures. Very nice. Was there a specific reason for the 16X7 F*rd steel wheels? Would those tires mount up to the 16" rims RPOZ11 mentioned - which would be Chevy steelies I'm assuming? Or was 16.5 Chevy and not avail. now? Sorry I'm completely clueless on the wheels/tires.

Re: stock wheel size on C20
16.5 tires have limited availability from Tire companies.
There are not many size choices and being of small quantities, they most likely will be more expensive. From my very minimal researching the internet right now, I could only find BF Goodrich & Firestone offering 16.5 Tires. There may be more companies making them, but again, in a 16.5, Tire Size availability is going to be difficult to satisfy a good look to it. Most of us just use the 16" GM rims; still around in Junkyards and from some of us who part out these trucks. I had to look with more effort here locally for these 16" GM rims. People grab them up quickly. I am running older Michelin LTX Tires with this size on 16" GM Steel Rims : LT245/75/R16 I first had these on my 1972 C/20 Highlander, then removed them and put them on my 73 C/20. I am very happy with the Michelin Tires! SICKLAJOIE posted using the 16" tire sizes on those 16" steel rims : 265/75/16 tires

----- After all this info, I need to look for just 16 in.x 7 in., 5 x 5 in. bolt pattern steel wheels to put hubcaps or full wheel covers on later, with the tires mentioned. Thank you all for helping point me in the right direction! p.s. and that the wheels in the pictures in post #1 are not stock wheels due to being 16" and not 16.5 as RPOZ11 mentioned.

Re: stock wheel size on C20
When I got the truck originally it had Alcoas on 235/85/16 tires.
I wanted the same height tires, but a little wider treadwidth and I wanted to go back to steelies. I swear by Michelin tires, but Michelin doesn't make a 16.5 tire. F*rd, Chevy and Dodge steel wheels all have the same 8 X 6.5 bolt pattern, and I found these F*rds on Ebay that were in nice, straight condition (just needed a nice white powdercoat job) so I went with them.

Re: stock wheel size on C20
People use the Ford wheels because they are wider at 7" and they are the last of the traditional steel wheels for hubcaps, which makes then easier to find. The GM 16" wheels are 6". The 16.5s were 7" but the tires were a shorter profile. That truck you started off showing has the GM wheels with 235/85-16s.

Re: stock wheel size on C20
Great info I like how these wheels/tires fill in nicely.
The pics I posted I thought was a nice example to find because it is the color of my truck, soon to be painted. One last question, is there any concern with backspacing when looking for a set? Or should they all be similar anyway? Special-K, is my comment above about 16" not being stock for 71-72 correct? They were 16.5" back then originally?

Re: stock wheel size on C20
***My apologies, I forgot that you said it has 1/2 ton 5 on 5 discs now***
OK, Now this is why I LOVE my hobby... I do know about small rim shops that will make up just about any combo anyone wants. That rim will work. You can defiantely see the larger band area making it a 16". You need to figure out if the rim's center line, the area where the rims bolts to the disc, and measure back spacing towards the frame and make sure that you dont hit parts in the suspension. Just a thought for you to check for... Now... the problem that you will run into is at the 16" stainless trin rings at the outside of the rim.

Re: stock wheel size on C20
As far as I know, all the Dodge, F*rd and GM steel wheels all have approximately 4.5" backspacing. It's not till you get to the 88 and newer GM steelies that the backspacing is more which makes the wheels look really tucked in.
So are you going back to an 8 lug setup? If you're not the wheel selection 16'" with 5 lugs will be pretty limited.

I, myself, have never looked into that thought. I just checked my VIN label on my 1973 C/20 right now. The Tire/Rim option on my truck from the factory is showing 9.50/16.5-8 on all 4. It may be because it was ordered as a Camper Special. In 1972 & back, they should be all 16.5. Correct me if I am wrong please!

Keeping the 5 lug setup. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned mine being a C20 before. I was thinking that since the first pic I posted was a C20 (like mine use to be), I could match its look even though mine was converted to a C10. "limited" as in? I'm getting confused. Hard to find or not made aftermarket?

Re: stock wheel size on C20
Your 16" rim size is fine.
Your Car type rally rims with the Truck 5 on 5 bolt pattern will be perfectly fine! Use them! It can be stock 16" GM Steel Rims, Ford Rims, Mopar. They could even be aluminum aftermarket. The size is 16". You're good on that part. What you need to be aware of is is that when someone else creates, manufactures, and offers up for sale as an aftermarket rim for you to buy, ie: your 16" car rally rims with a truck 5 on 5 bolt centers pattern, you are not there, nor is the manufacturer of your rim there at your truck to measure out exactly the maximum back spacing for the rim you have. We shall offer CAUTION here, as to take the time to measure what you have before you commit to using those rims. The Aftermarket companies are just making rims available. They also are of their mindset to expect that you the consumer, will be either wise enough to measure them, or take them to a professional and do all of the neccesary checking. Make sense?

Re: stock wheel size on C20
The C/20s in this era had either 16.5,what I call "clinchers" (regular tires that seal at the bead),or spit rim 16s. It was later into the '70s when 16" "clinchers" were used and eventually no 16.5s...to answer your question.
It was an option,to get a heavier rated tire on 1/2t trucks,to get 16" wheels and tires. Those wheels are hard to find, especially in 5-lug. To get a stock type wheel in 16" you will need to go the route Joe laid out. Styled wheels are pretty commonly available in 16" these days. You can also get tires with the same overall dimensions for 15" wheels.
