14 bolt hubs/ Axle shaft bolt threads cracked on inside of hub
I had to pull my hubs back off my axle because I made the mistake of insalling the inner bearing in backwords. After removing the seal, bearing and race i noticed that 4 of the 8 axle shaft bolt holes were cracked and pushing through on the inside. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. I am thinking maybe someone probably over torqued them.
I have noticed that some 14 bolts have 2 hub nuts on them. Mine only had the 1 with the key and lock ring. Is there any difference on these hubs, since I have to replace mine. Just to let you know my axle is from a 91 1 ton CC. It also had the stake on style drums and not hte slide on style. |
