wtb- locker, posi or spool?

hey everybody,

finally got the truck all tuned up and i am trying to figure out what type of traction aid I should buy, its a 71 12 bolt rear end, with 3.07 gears right now. I have seen spools in summit for $189.00 do they affect the handling of the truck that much? and are they really that hard on the drivetrain?

otherwise I was wondering if anybody had a posi or locker for sale, can't afford the prices they want for new ones .

its just a one wheeled wonder right now, i need to get it to do this...

I think the spools cause excessive wear on the tires. If you can, save up the extra $91 and get a posi from www.tomsdifferentials.com I got my Eaton from them and have been happy.

Has anyone used the True Trac listed at Tom's Differentials? $195 isn't a bad price for a new posi. Or are the Eaton or Auburn units better?

I run a detroit locker. EXPENSIVE, and I wouldn't recomend it unless you're off-roading.

just an FYI....I am soon swapping to an Eaton posi, but I have ran a $99 mini spool for two years or more. Go thru a set of tires once a year, but some of that is from tire burnout as well....so $99 can get you traction until you can get a new Eaton or locker....
