Talking air bags parts list

I hate to ask but I want to bag the back of my 66 truck and wanted to know what are the parts I need to bag just the back I don't need brakets I just wanted to bolt to the upper fram and the traling arm I have a bolt in c notch kit in already I don't really want it to be fast and I would like it to be silent when the air is released I was think of using hard lines my dad has some 1/4 stainless steel line I may consider using just need to get fittings

Re: air bags parts list

if you just want to bag the back and dont worry about how fast they are then get a paddle valve switch like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AIR-LIFT-Pad...a3b3a6&vxp=mtr
but wont be silent youll hear it in the cab, the switch is also the valve so air will release from behind it. but this most likely be the easiest cheapest route to get functioning rear bags...also depending on how you want your setup.....one switch for two bags? or two switchs, one for each bag?also depending on what style pressure switch you run you may have to use a relay...

heres for one switch tee'd for two bags
paddle switch valve
1/4 air line( measure from tank to switch to bags and then some extra)
3 - 1/2 to 1/4 reducer fittings(two at the bags, and one at the tank to reduce the 1/2 ports to 1/4)
tank
viair compressor ( because they come with a leaderhose and check valve for tank)
1 - 1/4 tee compression fitting( tee'ing the bags together from line coming from switch)
gauge
1 - 1/4 male compression fitting(for the air line at the tank going to the switch)
2 - 1/2 90 degree compression fitting(at the bags for the air lines coming from the tee)
1 - drain cock(to drain the tank, most tanks have a 1/4 port for drain cock but make sure the tank you get does or you may need another reducer fitting)
pressure switch( may need a extra reducer fitting depending on what ports your tank comes with)

now if you want a switch to both bags id say by this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200-PSI-Dual...f493b1&vxp=mtr
then you dont need to buy a gauge or 1/4 tee fitting listed above, but would need a extra 1/2 to 1/4 reducer fitting and 1/4 male compression fitting for second supply line to the second switch that you should run if your going two switchs..

this was doing it without the line you suggested using because you would have to figure out what fittings for that you would need, this is also done with out a gauge for the tank pressure or with a safty pop off valve, and depending on the pressure switch you use you might not have to use a relay..there is many different options and stuff you can add or ways to plumb everything so more fittings may be needed depending on what you choose to add...also theres different type of fittings push style, compression( i just like compression best) you could use what you prefer..all the fittings and air line I bought at a NAPA but i live by the warehouse with a big truck department so you may have to order it if you go to napa, and make sure if you use the brass style compression fittings that they are made for air line because the fittings they sell at home depot are not for air line tubing and leak( had a buddy buy some) I also ordered some fittings from here a couple times and seem to be fair on prices and very professional and accurate with my orders: http://airridefittings.com/store/index.php, then theres the traditional way to air bag with external vales and dumps and switchs box which is a whole different setup which would cost more and need more parts

Re: air bags parts list

I'll be running the same set up on the rear of my '66. The bags are Airlift D2600's. I'm planning on using manual valves. You'll also have to relocate your shocks.

Oh, and you'll need taller bump stops to keep the axle from hitting the bed floor.

Re: air bags parts list

There is many ways to bag a truck, from complex to simple. Fortunately, the trucks with rear trailing arms do make it a little easier to bag the rear. Here is a complete kit with everything you need to run a manual 1/4" valve setup, with bags and brackets. No c-notch included, but you have that already.
