Newbie thats in a bind
Hi my name is Rob. I am currently thinking about purchasing a GMC sierra 87.I am 28 years and from Hinesville, GA. I am in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk, VA. I want a fixer upper and I think I found the perfect truck to fix up. This is my first truck purchase and really could use some tips on what to look for when I go inspect the car. The lady wants 1500 for it. Problems that you cant see in the picture are as follow the speedometer doesnt work and the gas gauge doesnt work and also she said I will have to bleed the brakes. No ac or heat. She did state the motor is a beast. Also the rust on the floorboard will that be a big problem to self treat. Any helps and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Looks a bit pricey for what it is, but that's just my opinion.
Go to www.searchtempest.com Plug in what you're looking for and go at it.

Re: Newbie thats in a bind
The speedo issue could be a bad cable, and the fuel gauge more than likely would be a bad sending unit.
If the floors are rotted (if you can't do the work yourself) you would need to replace them. body work can add up quick if you have to have someone do it for you. Just things to keep in mind. |
