Re: Hydroboost instead of vaccum
Are you looking for the brackets to mount the hydroboost, or info on plumbing the hydroboost?

Re: Hydroboost instead of vaccum
if you look at Chev or GMC light duty trucks 75-76 up? which came equipped with diesels, you will find what you need. the Capt makes a nice bracket for mounting the newer hydroboost assembly itself in

Re: Hydroboost instead of vaccum
I scavanged a whole booster powersteering setup off of 1980 chevy diesel pickup. I was wondering if there is a thread on someone adapting this setup to a 63-66. I will need a new way to mount the hydroboost onto firewall and adapt to brake pedal. thanks

Re: Hydroboost instead of vaccum
Welderboy..
You're on the right track by going with the Captains kit... I did mine before I found out about it. You may have an issue or two on the clutch MC. I don't know how the Captain adresses that.... You can whack the bottom part of the bracket off and lose the bottom two holes...But I'm sure there is very good instructions included if you go with the kit. I left the BB V-6 in mine....here's a pic or two. They are not specifically pics of the booster, but you can see it. You'll like the way it performs.....brakes like a mutha...one finger steering w/36's and 2900 lbs on the frt axle.

Re: Hydroboost instead of vaccum
he has a 64 . manual clutch linkage
Les keep an eye on that frame for cracking around the steering box. I had a lot of weight on my frt axle with that Detroit in it and my frame has had to be repaired a picture of a detroit with hydroboost. removing diesel By rondavid at 2010-12-17 ron |

I sure didn't know about the year on the clutch change. WOW...!!!! I gotta say that's a first....fer me. That's a monster. Is that a 353 or a 371...? Or is it a four..? Or am I smokin the tall grass...? At any rate....It's a screamin' two stroke Jimmy Diesel. An It"s unique. Tell us a bit 'bout it when ya get a chance. No issue on my frame.... It was originally owned by an outfit who's fleet mgr. had a topnotch fab guy. First thing they'd do is outfit their trucks with utility boxes, "Bustin" grill guards....winches, lights, radios....etc. Mine had a beautiful tow-bar all fabbed in with the bustin guard...as part of the mounting assembly they fish-plated the inside of the frame-rail back beyond the front spring hanger and steering box. I pi$$ed and moaned like a little girl when I was drilling it for the upgrade. When I fixed the motor mount last spring since I had the front bumper off I just left the tow-bar mounts on the shelf. I'll snap a pic later. Les Thanks for checkin.
