Door stop rubber bumpers issue??
Anyone used the rubber door stops from lmc? Seems that these are oversized for the holes that are on the body where they are soposed to go???? What should I do... Drill the hole bigger?

Try lots of dish soap and a rubber mallet...

Re: Door stop rubber bumpers issue??
I do not use or sell the reproduction rubber door bumpers and I certainly wouldn't enlarge the holes in one of my trucks for them. They are too hard and tend to make it harder to close your doors. I use and sell only Genuine GM. They are softer and install easier. WES

Re: Door stop rubber bumpers issue??
Agree with Wes, don't drill. I've tried bumpers from the truck shop and lmc, fit is bad with both. I have a set from Brothers but have not tried them. I'm looking for an NOS set.

Re: Door stop rubber bumpers issue??
OK...I had gotten these rubber bumpers from LMC a few years back... for the life of me i couldn't get them into the holes...so i gave up but today i came across this post and see im not the only one... so i did use the DAWN dish soap, pliers and a flathead screwdriver and tucked and twisted and a little shoving...it worked no damage to truck or rubber bumper
took about 10 minutes Tho im still gonna go NOS or GM only because it was still a pain in the ass Last edited by crzo68; 03-25-2013 at 01:06 PM. Reason: forgot to add something... |

Re: Door stop rubber bumpers issue??
New GM bumpers are soft like a pencil eraser. Aftermarket Chinese ones are way more firm. As cheap as GM ones are, no contest.
