Steering wheel vibration
I had the steering wheel tightened because it was very loose, you could really shake the wheel.
The shop did this and they claim to have found that the steering wheel bearing was shot, it was replaced. Long story short, I have serious vibration when driving at highway speeds 60-75mph also sometimes I hear like a squeaking noise when steering wheel shakes. Also, has anyone heard of straightening tie rods ends? They also did this, is it safe? Any advice on this is greatly appreciated. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Steering wheel vibration
Can you drive through the vibration?? ie it vibrates from 60-70 then stops? This usually means a drive train problem. Driveshaft or ujoint. Otherwise I would suspect a bad tire or unbalanced wheels.

Re: Steering wheel vibration
It pretty much vibrates then stops, and I had the ujoints changed, because the shop owner said they were bad. I was told on here I believe, after posting pics that all the clips weren't put on the ujoints. Thanks.

Re: Steering wheel vibration
I was taught if it shakes in the steering wheel its in the front end if you feel it under your butt its in the rear unless its a real bad problem then you feel it everywhere

Re: Steering wheel vibration
Yes, steering wheel vibration is almost always something to do with the front end. As far as straightening tie rod ends, I'd never go back to that shop, not even with my bicycle. If tie rods are bent you replace them, period.
