Whats wrong with this picture?

My son barrowed my weedeater and of course did not listen to me on how to change out the string and lost a small lock springn for the trimmer cord. In searching for a parts breakdown for a Ryobi C430 4 cycle I came across this picture on the main Ryobi page.

NOT A VOTE OF CONFIDANCE ON THEIR PART

CAN YOU FIGURE OUT HOW THESE GEARS WOULD WORK.

Re: Whats wrong with this picture?

Da Vinci could tell ya....so could any first year engineering student....so could some back-yard builders.
Some top level mechanical brains, however, just don't know the meaning of "locked up"....or "Two-blocked".
It seems easy to some, but in the recent past, there was a technical group that used a similar design for their logo....done in pen and ink...yet still as disfunctional as the real McCoy.

Thanks for sharing. I've never seen the " Real McCoy " before.
I can't believe that hasn't been corrected....or at least gotten rid of.

If ya look real stupidly close....it looks like the two gears at top and right are straight cut gears and the one on the left appears to have a helical cut.
Not that that would make that much of a difference.

It just goes to show you.....always hire out your logo design work to Rocket Surgeons.

Re: Whats wrong with this picture?

Im thinking its just a stack of gears, like on a bench. If you zoom up on it theres more gears there.

Re: Whats wrong with this picture?

The gear in the lower left appears to be in a different plane than the other two gears.

that's what I'm thinking.
