Erl, you still looking for a V6, pm me. Will a 2wheel frame work with mods?

Re: WTB 64-66 4x4 long frame
Yes, I am still looking for GMC V6 engines. I am mainly interested in paying for the 351, 401 and 478 magnum size. I will take a free 305 if it is not too far away. A 2WD frame will work with some fabrication. But it is much easier to have a 4x4 frame.

Re: WTB 64-66 4x4 long frame
My buddy has a 351 out of a camper conversion,67 he wants gone cheap/make offer deal in Alvarado. I'll have a 2wheel frame without the c-member cheap/make offer. I'll take the cab, clip and bed off I'm useing. The motor is a 351V6 married trans with low miles, I think 78,000 on odometer? pics.

Re: WTB 64-66 4x4 long frame
If you want something closr to home you might look for a one ton. The onetons have the same basic frame as the 4x4 with the exception aof a couple of crossmembers and front spring mounts. You do have to fine the short wheel base oneton though. 127". A one ton frame is a much easier swap to 4x4 than a 1/2 or 3/4 ton frame. They are shorter on the side thickness of the rails and have different crossmembers. The one ton already has the rear leaf set up. I sent an email but I understand if it is to far away.

Re: WTB 64-66 4x4 long frame
Yeah, Idaho is a long way from Texas. I will have to pass. Very interesting info on using a one ton frame. Have you done this or have any pictures?
Trevolet65, I am interested in the 351 and will let you know. Erl

Re: WTB 64-66 4x4 long frame
I did all the measurements and it looked like it would work. I had a bent 4x4 frame and was going to swap everything over. but I have bought several 4x4 since and never got back to that project. I still have the stripped out oneton frame and the bent frame. I will see about taking some photos this weekend and email them to you.

Re: WTB 64-66 4x4 long frame
The motor sold this weekend for $500. I'll keep a ear out if I hear of any more. Good luck on the frame.
