New 16" 8-lug Wheels

I bought these wheels over 20 years ago brand new, took them directly to be powder coated, then stashed them away. These have never been bolted to anything, never had a tire mounted, never been wet or had any rust, and have always been inside (except for pictures). They were intended to be an alternate set to run tall skinny mud tires for a stock look on a Cheyenne Super K/20 I restored. I never got the tires and just ran the wide tires with aluminum slots the whole time I owned the truck. I only have the one '72 K2500 now that I have other stock type wide 16.5 wheels for and don't foresee using these. They are the stock wheels found on later trucks that many use on these trucks to get away from 16.5s or split rims........Sold...Thanks!

Re: New 16" 8-lug Wheels

At the moment I will have to just say they are stock width. You can't read the stamped size due to the powder coat and I meant to measure them before posting and forgot, then left for work. I want to say 6 1/2" but let me measure in the morning and post it. And yes,the larger 3/4-1t caps are what fit these...69-91,as all 8-lug outer nub type caps are the same.

I will pass on these, looking for something wider. Good price on some nice looking wheels.

I see I didn't answer your tire question. These are the stock width and I am running a set of 235/75-16s mounted on these on my '72 K2500. That's the closest to the original 7.50-16 bias plies. I'd say from the skinniest tire you can find to a 9 or so inch works well. I'm running 285/75-16s on this width wheel on another truck and have run 255/85-16s,which work really well. Smaller sizes in that range would be 245/75,265/75,265/70. I have run as small as 215/85s on stock 16" wheels.
Here are pictures of the same GM wheels with 235/85s. First on my '72 and second a wheel from my '91 Suburban:

As stated in post #1 these are stock size wheels, which are not wide and will work with narrow tires.

Yes large style hubcaps will fit, since they are stock 8-lug wheels. I posted a picture off this type of wheel with an original hubcap just to assure you. So,you were first to say "I will take these". Let me know your zip or your nearest Greyhound station so I can give you a shipping quote.

Re: New 16" 8-lug Wheels

Sorry, but after three days with no reply I sent a pm to va72longhorn letting him know these were still available. We made the deal and I just came here to post they are sold. If I had time after work yesterday to get on the computer this would have been posted then. I know he had to get up early and head out and wouldn't have a chance to post. So,again,I'm sorry you missed out,but I felt I gave plenty of time to respond.

Re: New 16" 8-lug Wheels

Thanks for that, I had to go out of town for work on an emergency to CANADA and do not have access to a computer for personal use while I am there and I just got home last night. There needs to be set rules on this forum for buying and selling not just what ever some one feels like. Also you just sent the post #10 yesterday for the shipping quote.

Like I said,I'm sorry it didn't work out. I'm surprised to see you feel the way you do. I feel I did follow the guidelines, not my own set of rules. I have always dealt fair and square and feel this is no exception. This "I will take them" just to secure the item for yourself, yet accompanied with a "pending" as well as another post with a question makes "I'll take them" not the affirmative reply that secures a sale. How is it any different than saying "I'm interested pending the width"? I showed pictures and stated these are stock width wheels. I would never post "I"ll take it" until I know the item is exactly what I want. And as far as me requesting your zip a few days later goes, you should have given it to me when you said you'd take them. How does anyone know they'll take something not knowing the total cost with shipping? To me that means a buyer has committed themselves to pay "whatever" the shipping cost is. "I'll take it" means there's no backing out in my book. Rules work both ways. If "I'll take it" (w/o any pending questions) assures the buyer the item, then it should assure the seller the item is definitely sold. I already had one member say "I'll take them",then back out and 3 1/2 days passed with me posting more pictures and info each day with no response.
I hope there are no hard feelings over this. I was just trying to pass on my nice wheels to a fellow member to pay for parts I just bought from another member that I needed.

Re: New 16" 8-lug Wheels

you know Special K I have tried both ways to get items on this site and have lost out I have been given helpful hints by board member's on how to phrase things while on the forum. I think that this forum only works for some not people who have jobs and a life that is busy. If you can sit there and watch things go on or get on frequently you have a shot I can not always do that most of the time I can but I guess that is the way it is. I would not intentionally tie up some ones stuff with I will take it but I also think that throwing the I will take it out there with out asking questions is wrong as well. Why did you even post the shipping quote post if you had PMed Daddy Brim that passed first if you were selling them to him I jumped on the post and gave the info later that day and that was the best I could do in this situation. Than is why I feel the way I do I wanted these wheels for my c-20 just wanted to be sure everything would work before I bought them I think I will touch base with a moderator on this one to see what they have to say about the whole thing.

Re: New 16" 8-lug Wheels

Made a mistake on who you sold the rims to it was VA72Longhorn not Daddy Brim and his bed strips are still on the forum for sale as I look at those my self today and thought about buying those but I need the wheels worse.
