I used these. 5/8 Bolt, and they are rated at 21,000 lbs. I think thats enough lol.

My favorite site for odd ball chit. You canfind almost anything.
http://www.mcmaster.com/#rod-ends/=h5ztxz super pivot. 5/8 left hand thread fit right in the 1963 factory adjusters.

that would be cool on my tractor, if there was a way to grease it... I think I will stick with engineered parts.

Did you drill out the taper on the spindle? I ask, because I've never seen spherical ends/Heim joints with tapered shafts.
