Modernizing old truck

This is more research than ready to buy today thread.

I want to build my panel for driving and enjoying but with some add lazy comforts of madern vehicle. I know most things are easy to find like power door locks, power windows and even power seats conversion. Im looking for input on which parts some have used and your experiance with them.

I want to add power windows, power door lock w/remote,power seats with seat warmers, power mirrors, rear air(thinking out of astro van will work),tilt wheel(probaly going chrome colum here) and already did thread on kicka$$ stereo system.

So if you have installed any of above let me know which brand and your thoughts. Also if know of some with bad rep for quality please let me know those too. Thanks guys.

Re: Modernizing old truck

Thanks streetsmart I have catalog and haven't seen that part yet. I did find the seat warmer incerts. Wife said he11 she would pay for those. I plan on working on exhaust this weekend and maybe starting getting the rear air mounted. I kind of swipped the one out of our old Astro van Looks like shouldnt be to hard to mount and run lines for,but it always looks easy when you start.

On the power windows I like the controllers that allow you to use a factory style crank to control it.

Also consider cruise control...

I'm heavily considering an LS motor for my next truck...you can get a donor truck and use many of the modern conveniences...

Re: Modernizing old truck

I installed power 5 way seats w/lumbar in mine from a 2005 Suburban. If you go that route make sure you get the original seat harness from the newer Suburban. It makes things a lot easier. It cost me $100 to get them professionally wired and they bolted right in without any mods to the seat brackets. Just had to drill new holes and use large washers/plates to keep everything safe.
Definitely worth it. I used all three rows, so my burb looks like a new one inside.
