Brakes 72 booster, master set w/p valve
I got this from a board member here and just wondering if anyone else has this set?
The part number is mbmbprct6772. I would like to look up the info on it and learn a little cause my knowledge of brakes is not very good... The proportioning valve is a pv2c also... Lost my pm's so I can't remember where this came from??? |

the pic you posted looks like a dual diaphram unit (7 or 9 inch). Don't think that's what any of these trucks came with. Hmmm... The booster is the small 9 inch so now I wonder if this is the correct stuff or not. This is the type of thing in my build I was not looking forward to. What I have is not what you posted for sure. It fits the firewall and the brackets and everything line up but if the internals are wrong... Maybe I will give pol a call today.
I thought this stuff came from classic performace??? Not sure. |

I don't think your internals will be "wrong". As I understand it, these boosters all work the same way. The question for you will be do you want to stay with what you have and maybe have to work on some fitment issues? Your dual diaphram is deeper than a single but the bracket looks the same. So I think this will put your master cylinder farther forward. this may become an issue when trying to connect the brake lines that I think I see there. Those lines would go to the prop valve, and prop valve to m/c.
A kit like the one I posted solves all of these issues....or you could just look for another booster...POL sells those bythemselves too. YOu could also go with a rebuild by Cardone or something like that thru the major parts stores. It all depends on what you want to do, spend, or hassle with. |
