New from Arkansas

New here from Bentonville, AR. I've been working on my 87 Suburban for a year or so now and thought I'd see if there were any more out there like it. The truck is an 87 3/4 ton 4x4 (started out life in the Border Patrol) that i first lifted 6 inches. Last year i converted it to full fender dually via adapters and sectioned fenders from an 83 1 ton. Just added a 90 model Blazer back half and I'm still doing fab work on the inside. I was curious if anyone out there tackled this before and sure enough there's several out there. Hm! I thought i was being original..... Oh yeah, truck was originally TBI 350/TH400/NP208/4.10. Last August i found a 92 Winnebago with 16,700 miles and put the 454 in the Burb. Running the 350 harness and comuter on a TBIchips.com prom. Sorry for the long post but it's quite a project!

Welcome from SoCal!
Sounds like quite a project. Be sure to check out the Suburban, and 4x4 sections here. I think you will find a lot of good info, and people like myself that can relate to how big of a project a Suburban can be

Re: New from Arkansas

Welcome from western Okla.
I was borned at Decatur. Graduated hi-school from Gentry. Visit B'ville often.

Sounds like a great project. Lot's of work, but worth it in the end.

Re: New from Arkansas

Ive already learned a ton! Wish i had googled you guys a long time ago.... My doner RV has a 16,700 mile 4l80hd (im pretty sure) which needs to be under my burb! I need to open a new thread and get some more (new) input but i think its a pretty straight swap. The hd supposedly has the 32 spline output shaft needed for the swap. Jus need a 4l80/241 adapter. I hope! Overdrive would be SWEET!

That's a great way to score a big block. Sounds like a pretty cool truck.
