1982' question.

I need a little bit of schooling guys, I'm mostly a 67-72 truck person, but I came across this clean rust free shortbed for sale today by the original owner, and I'm wondering what kinda deal this is......If this is a run away from it deal , good deal, great deal or smokin deal? I thought it sounded pretty good myself, A stock 1982' 305/700r4 with w/all the maintenance records since day 1, nice body w/factory paint, recently smogged, plus this thing started on the first click, only thing is the AC/heater does not work-$2,000 OBO, Please look at the photo's and give me some feedback (Positive or negative) Thanks!

I think the body alone is worth the asking price.

Re: 1982' question.

Sounds pretty good, if that is the original transmission, the early 700r4's were on the weak side. If it's working good, I wouldn't let that keep me from buying, just good info to know for the future. Good luck!!

I may be wrong, but the 700r4's did not come out till 96-87 so I'm sure this is something someone changed. My son just sold a 73 K10 with dents and rust all primered, so 2k sounds pretty good.

Tomorrow I'm going to a large auto swapmeet if I can find some decent 5 lug wheels for cheap to put on the 82' I'll give the owner a deposit and pick it up Monday.

Re: 1982' question.

Smoking deal Rene. Being its a 73-87 in your area it might not flip as easy as your past deals, but it will clean up and turn for 2500+ with the usual detail and add ons.

The 4 speed automatic/overdrive was an option in 1982 on C10's with V8 engines.

The early transmissions had a weak sprag if I recall correctly. Someone else will know better about this.

Buy it!
