67 'C10 Project - Indonesia
Hello everyone my name is Gilang from Jakarta - Indonesia, and I am new to the forums..
short stories, while I was on vacation in Central Java, I got info from my friend that in purworejo - Central Java there is a C10 truck, when I went to the car is filled with lots of ashes from the eruption of Mount Merapi .. I got this car in a good shape but not complete and now I'm just starting to rebuild this car. This is the truck when I bought it. Last edited by Gilang; 04-22-2012 at 01:48 PM. |

Re: 67 'C10 Project - Indonesia
My first question would be are you certain this is a 67 and not a 68?
Reason for asking is all the 67 year models didn't have the side marker lamps on the fender nor the bed sides.... Thanks, KC. |

C,mon wanna see more pics of this thing. The truck looks like it is dirty from fall out ash but it seems to be a solid truck as far as rust goes doesn't appear to have much if any from the pictures. Whats the plans for it???? Oh yeah looking at the vin does it start with a CE or CS????
Thanks and God Bless, KC. |

Thats a nice truck wish I could find a diamond in the rough like this one! I would start by seeing if the paint might shine up with a buffer and some sort of buffing compound. Whats missing from it???? just curious....KC

Re: 67 'C10 Project - Indonesia
yes! this like found a needle in the bush! lol... i decided to total rebuild this truck.. now the body already off from the chassis.. i would start with the chassis first, i'll blasting it, repaint it.
yes KC, of course i've been heard about Freeport PT.. maybe freeport is the biggest mining field in indonesia.. so i think everybody here know bout' free port.. but, free port is far from my place.. soooooo far.. in indonesia it so difficult to found parts for classic cars.. so i need to order it from USA, and you know what? sometimes shipping fee in more expensive from parts it self.. sometime the parts can be 2x or 3x from price in catalog.. fiuuhh.. yes, it is right hand drive, most of car in indonesia is RHD.. exept if someone import it direct from other country that use left hand drive.. i'll post more pics soon.. sorry if my english is bad.. |

Welcome to the boards Gilang!
I lived in Soroako, Sulawesi from '72 - '79 so I certainly appreciate how difficult and expensive it's going to be to get parts shipped in. Fortunately it looks like you've got yourself a solid foundation and have also joined the best source of information to help you build a winner. NICE truck! |

Re: 67 'C10 Project - Indonesia
we don't care about words, we want pictures! joking. That truck looks slick. How about some pics of the right hand drive interior, I have never seen a wrong side drive C10 before. Nice (and really rare over there) project.

Re: 67 'C10 Project - Indonesia
This will be a sweet build. We have a member from the Netherlands that I have sold to, he has a friend in California that he has everything shipped to them the friend would box and ship everything at one time so he wouldn't have to pay for each piece to be shipped so if you have a friend or family in the States you might want to do the same thing. Do you know where the truck was built? States? Australia?
