Kinda OT..How Are Our Midwestern Friends Coping With The Tornadoes?
Hope all are all right. We see the news here in the west and it looks like hell!!

Knock on wood, the area I am in has been fine so far, there was at least one in my county last night. Supposed to be soupy this afternoon/night and that usually equals storms.

bad weather
THE TORNADOS PASSED US UP LAST NIGHT HERE IN TULSA, BUT MOORE OKLAHOMA GOT HIT. I KNOW THERE WERE SEVERAL INJURIES NOT SURE OF ANY FATALITIES. I HAVE NOTICED ONE OF OUR BOARD MEMBERS IS FROM MOORE, HOPEFULLY HE AND HIS FAMILY WERE NOT HIT.

I have been promising my 5 year old I would take him camping for weeks! We are going tonight. There is a 40 percent chance of storms again, but I figure that is a good way to break him in to camping. Hopefully the tornado's are about over until the Fall. Crazy weather.
We had a pretty cold and snowy winter, a very wet and stormy spring, so I guess we are going to have a very hot and dry summer.

Man, I feel for you folks believe me! Tornadoes seem too scary. I have been in a hurricane in N. Carolina before and that was bad enough! All I can say is at least with earthquakes you won't see your new Quadcab flying across the front yard! Still they will devistate too but at least with tornadoes you can get some advanced warning and they are fairly predictable. I have been awakened by some BIG earthquakes but I would hate to have to contend with an F-5!

One hit here in town, but it was 3 miles from my home and 1 mile from work. No serious injuries, but did tear some roofs off of some apartment buildings and tossed a couple of vehicles around. We had pretty decent warning that the storm system was heading our way. First time in 15 years of living here that I went to a friends house with a basement. If it had continued to track the direction that it was heading, it would have come right over my home. Glad it changed!

I live in the south okc/moore area and it touched down about 200 yards from my new house!! just lost power for little over a day but no damage to house or projects thanks goodness!! the one that hit the next night hit less then a mile from my old house in Edmond! thinking of leaving state all together!!
