Cool What did I break?! Advice is needed...

Ok, long story short I broke a gold wire at the harness, it connects to the little thing (not sure what it is called) on the intake manifold, its about the size of a shot glass and sits on the driver side next to the distrib.
I've tried to solder it back to the harness, didn't work. Might have to shave the plastic down on the harness to reconnect.
Basically, I'm trying to find out what the wire does, and is it essential to my truck. Thanks in advance.

How's your oil pressure reading?
WAG, it's the oil pressure sender. WAG, because I don't know if it's on a tractor or what.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

If its the oil pressure gauge, it never functioned right. Oh well, another thing to do...been having to manually check fluids.

Hi,cfan10. Not to worry,it's an easy fix.Just unscrew the sender can,and install a new one,and connect the wire to it.You'll find a square area ,at the base, for a wrench.
Make sure, when you buy the new one, that you specify whether it has a gauge,or a light.Other than that,it's cool.

Thanks, I'll do that since it never worked.
But the thing is the wire disconnects from the sender, but that's not what broke. The end of the wire that goes into the main harness on the firewall broke off right where it goes to the harness. I'm thinking to solder wire back, I may have to shave the plastic on the harness to get to the metal connection where it broke off.
Hope I'm making sense...and thanks, again. I really appreciate it.

Re: What did I break?! Advice is needed...

Are you talking about where it goes into the harness,or where it enters the plastic connector for the fuse block?
If it'sat the harness, just slice open the wrapping, with a razor blade, and splice the wires back together.
If it's where the fuse block comes out to the engine compartment, you'll have to remove the outside half of the block,by unscrewing the bolt in the center, and pulling the block out. Then you'll be able to repair the connector pin. Can you post a pic? It will help.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
I had no idea it disconnected like that, you really know your stuff. I've taken it apart and about to solder it. Thanks again.
