It was a one shot deal..none left. But I know they're needed out there.. I'll still be looking for them. There is a reproduction I believe for a camaro that will work also... its just longer. But I dont know where this guy gets them... and he aint saying .. they ( reproductions) come up on ebay once in a while.

Classic Industries and Rick's First Gen both have the repro Camaro cable. Classic has a Chevy Truck catalog as well, but I haven't looked for at it as much as the Camaro catalog to say if the truck speed warning stuff is in there.

Well there ya go.. I looked for a couple years...lol. Well at least mine is correct for truck... I'll know it anyway. Ahh NOS always seems to be worth more anyway.

So where can you get a REPRO BUZZER?

I wonder if a speedwarning buzzer from any GM vehicle wouldn't work. Someone said somewhere I read one time that GM made some other buzzers that would work with a speed warning setup.

Rod,
i bought a N.O.S. buzzer a while back off ebay. the seller said it was for a chevelle or camaro but when i got it , it was identical to my truck buzzer. i'll be using it when i assemble my next project truck, but thought i'd mention it in case you happen to find an outlet for camaro/chevelle speedwarning parts.

Rod, the pic of your buzzer looks just like the Camaro buzzer. It also is in both Classic and Ricks catalogs. I'll look in the truck catalog and see if they have in speedwarning stuff in there.

I got dial up connection here so I try to look through Ricks catalog and such too.. buts its a slow process. I did see the camaro cable in one of there catalogs I did find that... you'll notice there longer than the original cable I posted a pic of but they will definately work.

Jerry.. yep the camaro and chevelle used the same buzzer as the truck around 68. Lots of truck parts were also used on cars... goes without saying that why so many trucks got stripped for parts. Chevelle and Camaro Canibals.

I say this one on ebay.. it sold for $580.. tach vacuum and speedwarning.... I thought it was a good price myself, I have put more money into building my own, speedwarning tach vacuum cluster.

And there we have probably have the most complete speedwarning post I have made or seen ever.. now anytime someone asks about a speedwarning... do a search or link them to this post...LOL.

Speedwarning was only available from 67-69.

Now wouldn't it be a fine idea if members would do more stuff like this also.

That was a good price Rod. Cheyenne Super Man Link has new Tach/Speedwarning/Vacuum clusters but he wants almost $800 for them!!

Here is a picture of a speedwarning cluster I picked for $60 at the Charlotte show about 5 years back. I've marked with arrows two points on the back of the cluster. Does the speedwarning harness connect to both the round stub (hot) and the clip I have marked (neutral) or just the round stub? Also, if I were to transfer this speedwarning speedometer over to my tach cluster, what would this involve? I know that there is an extra hole on the plastic surround for the adjustment cable to go through. Does the round stub shown in the picture just require a small hole to be drilled in the correct spot on the rear plate? Any other members try a swap like this and have any do's and don'ts to offer?
Robert

Check out this wild speedwarning buzzer mounting. This is from an old Olds.

I took apart an oldsmobile speedwarning like in your pic from a 73 OLDS 98 to see if I could use anything for a truck.. nope.... I did save the oldsmobile speedwarning buzzer though.

If swapping into a tach dash without speedwarning for example....
As for the swap ...of speedwarnings into another dash
your tach dash will not have a hole for the cable or the stud ... the stud being the lower arrow in your picture.

After I did mine differently I was told a small sockets around the stud and a little hit with a hammer will make that stud come loose.. you need that stud and the insulator fiber washer to be put into the tach dash. I didnt do it that way.. I just looked and played around with it till I figured it out.. I did it a few years ago,,, I cant even remember what I did but I remember that being about the hardest part to do.
The cable will need a hole drilled into the back of the the new dash rear metal plate... no big deal really.. I just used the same size drill as the hole that was in the original speedwarning dash. Used the original metal plate to help locate the hole.... the cable slips into a plastic cable holder in the speedwarning speedohead. Thats what makes the extra needle move. Used the original bezel to locate the hole for the cable in the bezel.
