1955-59 2nd series wiring harness reccomendations

Hi all,

I am getting to the stage where I need to rewrite my 1956. I was curious as to any recommendations on which harness to use. I am currently running a 235 and adding HEI and an alternator. I do plan to switch to a SBC when the funds are available. What can I buy to work now but will also be acceptable when I upgrade to a V8.

Thanks

If that is not enough information, use the search function, pages of threads come up discussing this topic. I got an EZ wire 221 circuit for my frankentruck.

Thanks Orrie! There is just so much to choose from and a big difference in price. I was leaning towards the EZ wiring but wanted to see what others are doing. Thanks again!

I used the AAW Highway 15. I like their stuff because their tech support is excellent and their kits come with all the switches you need. If you buy one that doesn't consider the cost of the headlight, wiper, ignition, etc. switches. They're probably all about the same price when you figure everything.

I used a keep it clean harness. Not bad, and all wiring is included, but you must buy an assortment of connectors, and some of the instructions are not straight to the point, however prior to getting the kit, you can view and download their diagrams and see if its something you are interested in doing. I got a ton of help from guys on here, and on the HAMB when it came to wiring the ignition, alt, and starter! Thanks again guys!

I was lucky enough to find a clean 84 chevy with a virgin harness, spent a few hours dissecting it and poof was a breeze to install for $30 at a local junk yard.

find one with a tilt column and call it a day!
