1986 chevy k10 clutch problems
im having some hydraulic clutch issues on my k10..first it was the rubber cup that sits in side the resivoir it expanded and wont fit back in properly so instead i sealed the tiny pin hole in the cap with some silicon, it drove fine for about 5 mins then the clutch would get really weak. so i figured there was air in the system so yesterday me and my dad sucked out all the old **** in the resivoir because it was like mud put in new and then bled the system and now i have no pressure at all the clutch goes right to the floor without any resistance we bled it about 4 times pumped the crap out of it afterwards and still have nothing. has anyone had this problem before ??? is it a bad master or slave cylinder? im stumped

Re: 1986 chevy k10 clutch problems
These clutches can be hard to bleed sometimes. You may have to bleed it a bunch more times to get all the are out. You should have the rubber cup in there and maybe clear the little vent hole. The rubber cup can be hard to get new. I know this replacement is available and works. 91-97 Jeep Cherokee clutch reservoir cap and diaphragm replacement part #4741671. ($25.00 through dealership).

Re: 1986 chevy k10 clutch problems
i ordered a new reservoir cap from LMC but it didnt come with the diaphragm. ill go to a dealership tomorrow and order that part thanks. Is there a specific bleeding procedure? i might be doing that wrong. heres what i did
1- open bleeder valve 2- had my dad depress the clutch 3- close bleeder valve 4- let up on the clutch

Pump the clutch a bunch of times and hold it to the floor. Open the bleeder then close it. Repeat.
