Wilwood just released a brand new rear disc brake kit that uses the D154 caliper. This caliper resembles the D52 very closely. I wanted to share this new kit with everyone and let you know it is available:

$770 for slotted / drilled rotors
$670 for plain rotors

We offer Free Shipping on this item as always.

Features:
12" Rotor
Integrated Parking Brake
2-Piston Caliper
Red or Black Powdercoated Caliper

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

Wilwood just has the drilled / slotted rotors available. Replacement rotor pricing is below, but keep in mind, that rotors aren't replaced very often. But, I do agree, good to know what they cost if it is needed.

Plain Rotor: $158 ea.
Drilled/Slotted Rotor: $215 ea.

I was glad to hear they finally came out with a more affordable rear disc kit. I think for the price, it is a nice system with the integrated parking brake.

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

Some spendy rotors. But glad to see the kit is very affordable indeed.
Now are the calipers upgradable or is that a whole other kit entirely?
Would have liked seeing a 13" rotor option

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

Calipers aren't upgradeable, as it would require a new bracket. By the time you get the new bracket and bigger caliper, you would probably be at the cost of the next kit up.

This is the nextstep up with a 13" rotor
13" Wilwood Kit

Baer 13" Rear Kit is a little more affordable considering the Wilwood 13" kit.

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

what kind of kits do you have available for k30's. I already have rear disc brakes on my corporate 14 bolt FF and they are the same calipers that are on the front of a k20. But my front calipers are quite different. They have the pin that drives in to hold the caliper in place... which I believe is specific to 1 tons... Not sure. Any information would be nice.

Is there any chance these will clear 15" wheels?

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

Wilwood claims a 16" is the smallest. I will have the actual digram of the brake soon, and I can let you know what the overall diameter of this brake kit. It may fit inside some 15" wheels, depending on the style and where the drop center is.

I will keep you posted.

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

The radius of this kit to the top of the caliper is 7.5" (15" diameter), so I don't think this is going to work inside a 15" wheel.

Don't have anything for the front of K30's, like you said, because they are a different caliper. Not quite the same.

If I come across anything, I will let you know. Just from my searching today, I couldn't come up with anything in a aluminum style aftermarket caliper.

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

Does this kit come with everything needed to convert? Has the price changed in the last few years? Do they offer a matching front kit? Thanks for any info!

The price went up $25, and the kit does come with everything needed to convert to disc. It will use a different e-brake pull on the backing plate, so an adapter or new e-brake cables would be needed. If not concerned about the e-brake, then nothing will need to be done here. The adapter runs about $30.

The best matching front kit, would be the D52 swap calipers. We do have a front and rear kit, that uses the D52's up front, this kit in the rear, new rotors up front, SS hoses and e-brake cables.

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

What kind of parking brake does it use? Similar to the late 70's Cadillac/Camaro or the newer little drum in the rotor?

Nevermind.... I looked it up. small drum style

$770.oo for one disc brake setup. So you have to buy another for the other side?

Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

I am getting this rear kit for my C10. You said there is an adapter for 25 bucks? Do you have them available? or part number? Does that mean you can incorporate the stock cable with the adapter?

Question Re: New!: Wilwood D154 Rear Brake Kit

Is the parking brake a built in drum style in the rotor or the goofy mechanical lever on the caliper type?

Yes, it is a parking brake assembly inside the rotor.
