1967 GMC Stepside, Small Window
Hi everyone,
Im new to this forum, and would just like to say hi. I previously had a 72 nova that I restored to a semi street/strip car, until someone ran me off the road and I totaled the Nova =( Good thing I wasn't at fault, and I had INSURANCE =) R.I.P 1972 Nova Well to cut things short, I purchased a 1967 GMC small window Stepside truck a long time ago, and have made that my new hot rod, and been in the process of restoring it. Here's what I got done so far (feel free to comment) : - Brand new interior; dash, carpet, seats, weatherstripping, repainted everything, etc. almost everything is new besides dash gauges - Had the door jambs professionally aligned and set with new everything, new window cranks professionally done - tilt column - Windows have been re-seated and sealed with new rubber - re-located fuel to rear with a 16g fuel cell - early classic 4-6" drop kit with leaf springs - American Racing rims with 255 in the front and 275 in the rear (soon to be 295) - brand new 327 that was rebuilt with 2.02 fuelie heads, mild rv cam, pete jackson noisy gear drive, estimated hp is about 300-325 (not bad for a original 215hp block) - after polished aluminum headers, have stainless steel 2.5" exhaust w/ magnaflow mufflers.. soon to be flowmasters off the nova..it's dumped off in the middle of the truck right after the mufflers with downpipes - transmission rebuilt th350 w/10k miles - rear end rebuilt 3.42 gears with an LSD - new Vintage air and heat -The whole undercarriage was sanded and sprayed, so basically rust free *since last week, i have installed a new ACCEL vaccum HEI distributor (to get rid of points) and msd 8.5mm wires. * the interior is basically brand new, just some minor scratches here and there since it has been sitting and worked on. *there is probably more things that have been done to it, I just cant remember...ohh like a new driveshaft haha!! Please comment |

Recently I changed my 2.5" exhaust to 2" exhaust because it was too loud...and even with the 2" exhaust its still loud!! but sounds better in way that it sounds cleaner..not the annoying "crap why is it so loud!" but I will post more pictures tomorrow after I clean it up.. -interior -more lighted up pic of engine bay - Money shots |

Ram horns, love it hahah!!!!! Yea, the 2 inch exhaust sounds great with the magnaflows i currently have on it.. Its just loud enough to hear the cam, and quiet enough to hear the noisy pete jackson gear drive whine...!!! but yea I already got some ideas for the pictures |

you have an awesome looking truck and the interior is flawless. What did the buckets come from? they seem to fit so nicely.

Re: 1967 GMC Stepside, Small Window
So new update guys,
got some side pipes installed..after my 2 1/4 inch exhaust to the mufflers, after the mufflers are 2 1/2 inch exhaust pipes bent outward under the step.. sounds awesome... what do you think?? actually reduced interior resonance and made it deeper |
