I picked up a couple new fobs for the wife's ride, can I program the new ones or am I stuck with the dealer?

Ok, let me rephrase, can you program key fobs on any of the new GM vehicles? Can you do it on the 2011-12 Silverado/Sierra? I thought you could do it with the DIC, but the proceedures I have found don't work.
