ignition switch sticking in the 72

so, every once i a while the ignition will stick. not as much for me but for the wife and son seems to happen more. I sprayed some lub and worked the key on and off and it seemed to help but even with the lub it would still stick. I have to slide the key back out a tad, wiggle it a tad and then it will work fine for a few days then when you stop thinking about it it will stick again. any suggestions

The 1ton is most likely correct if you have to move the key around to get it to turn. The tumbler is most likely pretty well worn out by now and causing that. The other cause may be keys that are worn out. If it just doesn't release and pop back after you hit start the spring in the switch it's self may be bad or weak.

When it gets to that point plan on replacing the ignition cylinder and all keys. Keys wear and beat up the cylinder tumblers, especially when a heavy keyring is involved.
