88-98 Control Arms?

Hey guys!

I have a 99 Tahoe 2dr/wd, I found some used tubular upper control arms on fleabay. Seams like a good deal!!!

the seller states that they came off an 89

do you think they will work?

Re: 88-98 Control Arms?

I suggest you find out the brand and check compatibility with the manufacturers web site.

Re: 88-98 Control Arms?

They most likely will as yours should still be the old body style design , 88-98 as the trucks. Tahoes were made in that same body style as the trucks until 1999. I'd check to see if they came off a 1500 series half ton 2 wd truck first. If so you should be good to go. I'd replace the ball joints in them before installing them on your truck since they're already out of the vehicle. Order them to the same year as your current spindle so the ball joint tapper would match you spindle.

Re: 88-98 Control Arms?

Without knowing what "style" a-arms you are looking at on eBay,... It's hard to say.
Stay away from DJM.
They have balljoint and bushing issues.
Look at RideTech if you want a quality upper a-arm.

Do you plan on lowering your Tahoe?

Re: 88-98 Control Arms?

I talked to the seller but he does not know thew brand, and their is no part number on them. so as far as that goes in kinda stuck.

My truck could use some new ball joints and while I'm at it i plan to throw in some new bushings along with some drop components Ive been accumulating since i bought the truck about 2 years a go

really appreciate all you guys jumping in on this.

Nate, I promise to get back to installing the drop member on my 72 once the suspension is rebuilt on the tahoe
