Pics of lowered trucks with stock A/C boxes?

Just trying to see how low you can go and still keep the stock a/c box on a 73-87. Those lowered with stock a/c can you post a pic of your ride along with your wheel/tire and drop amount? THANKS!!!

Mine is down 6/8 (at ride height in the rear - air shocks)and I havent even removed the inner fenders. How is the AC box affected? I have factory AC but it doesnt work. Is there something inside the fenderwell that I am missing on my truck? I guess if you are trying to run 26" wheels and have your inner fenders removed?
My front tires are 215/70R15, and my control arms hit the ground before my tires hit inside the fenders....

Vintage air makes a ac kit that puts everything under the dash.

Here you go, full air ride with 3" drop spindles on front, custom front inner fender wells, sits flat on front cross member when laid out, tire size is a 265/35/22, running factory a/c heater box that has been moved up on fire wall approx 1-1/2". a/c and heater work perfect! Pictures below.

How hard was it to move up the factory a/c box? And any tips or tricks that you might wanna share? I'm getting ready to bag a dually and moving up the factory box would be a better option than dishing out more money for Vintage Air

Not really a big deal took it all lose, trimmed the firewall and moved it all up and re attached. seems like there was enough slack in all the factory components to move up, you can see in the pictures about how far we moved it based on the top edge of the cowl.

Made them from aluminum, used a bead rolloer and dimple die. Made patterns from consrtuction paper and tranferred it to sheel aluminum. cut them out and bead rolled them drilled holes then used dimple die. When finished I scotch bright pad brushed the finish.

I don’t think you’re going to have any issues with your standard, run of the mill drop job on mild wheels (< 22”). My dually is dropped 6” up front (3” spring, 3” spindle) on a 225/75/16 (29”-30” o.d.) and I don’t have any issues, although I did pull my inner fenders.

You really only start to see the interference issues on bagged and bodied trucks running big wheels (> 22”).

Thanks for the info. I already have 3" spindles and pretty soon adding the air ride as soon as everything comes in. Trying to see what my stopping point will be. Either laying on front crossmember or frame with a 22" wheel

You didn't say how you were going on the air ride - Porterbuilt makes tubular lower control arms that move the front wheels forward slightly (don't know exactly how far).

Centers them up in the wheel well and helps get the tires off the A/C box at full drop.

Good point. I was thinking of raising the crossmember up into the frame 2" (like the JT truck in the make it handle thread) and either move the crossmember forward to center the wheels OR have Nate make some arms.
