Frame

I have a question about my frame. I have a 1968 SWB frame and I'm ready to put my cab back on the frame and I noticed that from the rear of the frame the second brace is not perpendicular to the frame like all the other braces are...Is that the way it is supposed to be? Thanks in advance...

Can you post a pic? I have a 68 GMC which uses the same frame but not sure which brace you're talking about. Are you referring to the mounting point of the cab itself or a brace for the frame?

Here's a pic of my 69 frame short wheel base which should also be the same.

Re: Frame

My 68 along with every other one I've seen is like that. I have absolutely no idea why. Just the way it was designed I guess.

My 71 was like that too. Drove me nuts every time I walked by the back because it gave the illusion that the frame was not sitting level. I took all the rivets out of my cross members and welded everything solid. I squared that one while I was at it. Doesn't bug me anymore

Which brace??? I'm still trying to figure out if he was talking about the cab mount or a crossmember, or another brace somewhere.
